Figurative artist Nancy Orr graduated from the Compton School and then attended the Rhode Island School of Design, Le Musee de Beaux Arts, and the Sadie Bronfman Center in Montreal, Canada. She owned the Jenson Gallerie in Montreal and on arriving in Hawaii sold art for the Dyansen Art Group before opening her own Maui showroom called NORR Studio, a Front Street gallery on the beach in Lahaina. She later moved her art across the street to Sargent's Fine Art.

Her talent for selecting and buying fashionable clothing and shoes remained a lifelong passion since she lived and encouraged others to live in the realm of Art.

For over twenty years Nancy lived back and forth between St Sauveur, Quebec and Maui while painting and selling art. Her paintings are held in prominent collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and Asia.

Her portraits, figure and flower paintings, in addition to her sculpture and painted vases, illustrate the themes of love, companionship, trust, and inner truth all simplified to a fluid essence. Her inimitable painting style has been compared with the works of Matisse and Picasso, and will live on as her unique contribution to the art world.
